Powerball keeps jackpot, $157M for Saturday
Three $800,000 tickets lead the list of latest Powerball winners following last night’s draw, as no one was able to match all six numbers to claim the $137 million jackpot ($64.5 million). It will now rise to $157 million ($73.9 million cash value) for Saturday’s draw.
This time out, matching five numbers was the closest anyone could come among the 756,592 winners. Of note, the $800,000 winners also activated the game’s Powerplay option, quadrupling their winnings. Five other tickets likewise matched the same sequence without the Powerplay, winning $200,000. Matching four numbers plus the Powerball - along with playing the Powerplay - was good for $40,000. Minus Powerplay? Still good for $10,000 for another 42 tickets. All told, Powerball will award more than $9.1 million in cash prizes from this latest draw.
Once again, the winning numbers from the Sept. 13 Powerball draw were 15, 19, 26, 45 and 47 with a Powerball of 3. The next chance for players comes Sept. 16.
