Mega Millions Jackpot Grows To $50 Million
Mega Millions players are feeling the excitement as the jackpot continues to grow. When Tuesday’s winning numbers were drawn, they turned 414,489 tickets into Mega Millions winners. Each of those tickets matched one of Mega Millions’ nine prize levels. Since no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot grows to an estimated $50 million for the Friday, January 27, 2006 drawing.
The winning numbers in Tuesday’s drawing were: 31-34-36-51-55 and the Mega Ball number was 4. Here is a breakdown of all the winning tickets in Tuesday’s drawing*:
3 tickets matched 5 numbers for $250,000
12 tickets matched 4 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10,000
825 tickets matched 4 numbers for $150
953 tickets matched 3 numbers + the Mega Ball for $150
16,688 tickets matched 2 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10
44,341 tickets matched 3 numbers for $7
111,528 tickets matched 1 number + the Mega Ball for $3
240,139 tickets matched the Mega Ball for $2
Those three tickets that matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number were purchased in California , Illinois and Texas.
Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
